Ultimately, if no complaints or discussions change the features, then it’s understandable that players may feel confused. So much so that there are several ways to remove these features from your own server, either with Spigot or with a CurseForge mod. For them, each of their Minecraft servers is a sanctuary of sorts and doesn’t have to be moderated if they don’t want to. Many players responded to this comment by saying they didn’t feel like they were being listened to. Harassment is bad, which ironically is the point of feature reporting in the first place. “We appreciate and appreciate your feedback, but that doesn’t mean that feedback will always change the design principles that Mojang Studios follows – this includes the future reporting system.” While this comment itself may seem sarcastic, the second paragraph of the comment states that some players leave comments whenever a Mojang employee does so to complain about the system. MojangMeesh, a community manager on Reddit, posted a message explaining the decision. Despite some level-headed criticism and reasoning against the tools, Mojang has said they will stick with them. Minecraft’s chat reporting and moderation features were initially announced last month, and were quickly slammed by the community for not being up to the task.
